A brief bio of the band members


 

Billy Teichmiller, drummer. Born on March 11, 1956 in Cullman, Alabama. He and his wife live in Huntsville, Alabama. He is father to four children. Billy owns and operates his own studio.   He gives drum lessons to 50 children in his spare time. He has been playing drums for the past 40 years and been the drummer for the Crawlers since 1991. Billy likes to fish when he has the time to go.

 

Owen Brown, bass player. Owen was born in Cullman, Alabama March 27th, 1952. He currently lives in Town Creek, Alabama with his wife, 10 dogs, one cat, and is father to two girls ages 21 and 29. He has one grandchild "Grandpa Owen" still jams. He is president of his own music studio, Bird Land Studios, Inc. He has been playing the bass for 39 years and been with The Crawlers for three years. His history includes performing on stage with Renegade (Lee Roy Parnell, Jack Pearson), Percy Sledge, Eddie Hinton (4 albums), James Taylor, Alex Taylor, Kate Taylor, Livingston Taylor, The Allman Brothers (1 of 4 bass players invited to audition for Allen Woody's replacement), Ronnie Dunn (Brooks and Dunn). He also worked on a local crew in Memphis for the U2 Popmart Tour.

 

Thad Usry, Harp/Vocals. Thad  was born on November 15th, 1955 in Augusta, Georgia. In 1994 he played briefly with the band "Purge" who's lead singer was Bo Bice (Remember Bo, he was the 2nd runner up on American Idol.)  Later in the same year he was introduced to The Crawlers and has been playing the harp and singing vocals for them ever since. Thad and his wife Donna live in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama. He is the proud daddy of three children, two girls and one boy ages 17-25.  Hobbies include motorcycling and scuba diving.

Chris Simmons was born September 13, 1974 in Boaz, Alabama. He has been playing guitar for 20 years. After pursuing his music career for 5 years in Austin, Texas and a year in Hollywood, Chris and his wife and his Pomeranian returned to live in Lacey's Spring, Alabama.   Upon returning, he met up with The Crawlers through old friend and band mate, Owen Brown. Chris is a full time musician and songwriter, but when he has the time he enjoys fishing and working around the house.
